During my UCSB college years I would often frequent a little breakfast spot called Main Squeeze (thanks Josiah!). It was a little bistro downtown with rows of barstools lined up on the white tile with black trim and a row of beautiful stainless steel juicers lined up, ready for action.
When you walked in the door, you were greeted with the fresh, fragrant punch of citrus, which never ceased to trigger my taste buds for a big glass of OJ. Since then, sadly, Main Squeeze has closed.
Not too long ago, I was gifted a fantastic juicer (thanks Sarah and Jon!) that totally takes me back to those sights and smells of my college days (not the part involving a red Solo cup and Eternity perfume). It’s the best juicer I have ever owned— it really gets the job done. It’s easy to use (my kids make their own juice) and it’s so pretty that I leave it on the counter. It makes juicing a breeze, making fresh lemonade, sorbets and cocktails a snap.
It’s a little pricey, but worth the investment if you are of the juice persuasion. I’ve personally gone through at least four juicers, and this Breville crushes them all. Once you squeeze your first cup of fresh OJ, you’ll be hooked, too. You can find it at Willams-Sonoma. Bonus, it’s on sale too!
